Crafters Giving Back
 

Hello everyone! My name is Dana. I have been crocheting since I was about 12 years old. It has always been something I hold dear to my heart since I learned from my mom and we have bonded over it to this day. I have always crocheted for friends, family and for fun. Until COVID hit and my cousin asked me if I could make ear savers to protect the nurse’s ears when they are wearing their masks. I used my scrap yarn and made around 75 ear savers to donate to the hospital she worked at.  Shortly after, I received messages asking for more for their children and they offered to pay me.  So I stocked up on some colors and gave them choices of colors and buttons.  So began Handmadebydana! I quickly moved from ear savers to scarves to infant outfits. I now make crochet animals, pillows, blankets, holiday themed garland and so so much more.  I take custom orders as well!   

      When I heard my good friend Deltra was looking for someone to hand-make a thoughtful gift that will be sent to some special people to remind them they aren’t alone in their fight, there was not a doubt in my mind!  I got to work on making heart clips that will be sent out to people who need them.  I know that these hearts will reach the right people.
